We knew when we first heard of eAssist that it would be a game-changing technology for Buick.  Essentially, eAssist combines, the power of a li-ion battery, aerodynamic design, start-stop technology and regenerative breaking to create vehicles that are hailed for surpassing the likes of the Lexus HS and Infiniti M Hybrid in terms of highway fuel economy; and the Acura TSX, Audi A4, and VW CC in terms of overall efficiency.

The question that remains on the minds of many is: "What exactly does that mean, beyond leading fuel economy?" The answer is really quite multi-dimensional. Buick has, however, been able to boil it down into a comprehensible manner on their new eAssist learning site. There,  interested drivers may play three interactive games, which aim to clearly portray how drivers can use the elements which comprise Buick eAssist to maximize driving distance between visits to the pump.

Of the three games (i.e., "Regeneration Road", Wind Tunnel Tester" and "Roll & Boost"), "Roll & Boost" is our personal favorite here at Walser Buick GMC - Roseville. In explaining the game, Buick says, "Sometimes you need a quick boost to go farther. The lithium-ion batter in Buick eAssist Technology stores energy to give you that quick boost when you need it. In Roll & Boost, the farther you go the higher you score. Brake or coast downhill to charge your battery. Collect coins along the way to refuel. As you cover more miles, you'll receive medals for your progress."¹
